Following products are manufactured at the state-of-the-art SGU plant.

Plywood: MR Grade

SGU offers the most durable MR grade plywood made out of selected veneers from defect free logs. The veneer is bonded together with melamine based urea formaldehyde resin that prepares the SGU ply to resist moisture or even mid showers. Veneers are well treated with formulated treatments to make the SGU ply a bore-resistant ply.

Plywood: BWR Grade

SGU BWR grade plywood is used for exterior grade. It is manufactured at company¡¯s sophisticated plant with the minutest attention to the details, which is a characteristic of each and every SGU product. The manufacturing process strictly conforms to IS and International quality standards.

SGU ply has the strength and power due to the bonding of phenol formaldehyde synthetic resin, which is produced in a strictly maintained chemical plant, under controlled temperature and pressure.

This ply has zero effect of boiling water, cyclic moistening and drying. It can be boiled continuously for many hours without any degradation and delaminating. SGU plywood can be successfully used under the severest of tropical climatic conditions.

This plywood conforms to IS:303 standard.

Salient Features:

SGU BWR plywood is manufactured from high quality veneers of uniform thickness. These veneers are peeled off carefully from the selected durable wood by the fully automatic pneumatically controlled peeling machines.

Stress relieving treatments like tenderization and tropicalization are given at every stage of manufacturing process to make it warp free and dimensionally stable. Regular tests according IS:1734 are conducted at factory¡¯s laboratory to ensure quality.

Each piece of veneer undergoes preservative treatment as per IS 401: 1982 to make it withstand all types of wood destroying organisms, viz., termites, white ants, fungus and other micro-organisms.

Blockboards

Conforming to IS:1659 standards, SGU block boards are there to stay with you. The woodwork will last till generations because these block boards are made out of well-seasoned planks according to the scientific patterns laid by the Forest Research Institute.

Made from carefully selected high quality seasoned timber, SGU block boards beautifully blend the strength of the solid wood and the finish of a smooth surface board. The timber is seasoned under controlled temperature and humidity to get uniform moisture as per IS: 1141 ¨C 1993. Furthermore, timber is also sterilized during the seasoning process to kill wood-destroying organisms. Carefully selected Indian and imported veneers are compressed at the bottom to make the best quality warp free block board.

Crafted with utmost care, SGU block boards have a smooth and flawless surface finish, which can be easily painted or polished. These block boards are absolutely free from corrugation and unevenness due to stringent quality controls maintained at every level of production. Due to stringent quality control, SGU block boards last much longer than ordinary block boards.

These are light in weight, dimensionally stable, with no tendency of warping. Have a smooth finish surface, free from waviness, overlapping and gaps, very light to handle, easy to saw and excellent in screw and nail holding properties.

SGU Block Boards come in two grades.

Grade1: Exterior Grade BWR Block Board:

BWR block boards are bonded with superior quality phenol formaldehyde synthetic resin.

Grade2: Interior Grade Block Boards:

Commercial or MR grade block boards are bonded with good quality melamine urea formaldehyde resin.

Applications:

Fabricated house, railway carriages, bus bodies, marine and river crafts. All types of quality furniture partitions, paneling etc.

19mm & 22mm

Flushdoors:

The wide frames of SGU flush doors, made of selected hardwood, give a super strong structure that goes on and on for centuries and decades.

Flush doors are elegantly designed for a long life. These flush doors not only add aesthetics to your office or home but also last much longer than ordinary flush doors. What¡¯s more, these represent rare mix of quality, durability and dimensional accuracy. These are being extensively used for interior and exterior purpose.

The flush doors are made with proper care and are available in all sizes. Flush doors made are completely as per the guidance of IS:2202, are the favorite of architects and household owners who are using SGU products to protect their houses for years.

Decoratives:

SGU decorative are processed in such a way that offers an excellent surface for glass and matt polishing to suit the applications like paneling and furnishing. The plywood and blockboards carry the same specifications as in the normal ply and boards.

SGU decorative products add an exclusive touch to the interiors. Manufactured from selected core and fine teak veneers, bonded with phenol formaldehyde resin, SGU decorative conforms to IS: 1328 standards that give a complete feeling of gettingA the right thing.

SGU decorative plywood offers a superior medium and a vast range for interior paneling and decoration. The superior finish of the surface gives this plywood, a natural edge over all others in creating elemental and functional interior of a classical imagination. The wide range of colour, finish and grain consistency offers enormous possibilities of aesthetic application in homes, offices, hotels and clubs.

SGU decorative plywood also comes in imported teak veneers in large number of teak surface finishes and radiant colours, characteristics of hard wood trees. The decorative veneers are most suitable for splendorous locations. Like all other products of SGU, these decorative products are also manufactured under strict quality control conforming to IS standards.

SGU¡¯s well chosen veneers display a kind of expression that has a strong aesthetic appeal. Anti-borer, termite-resistance and other characteristics are of course present in every inch of SGU decorative products.
