At SGU, plywood and other products are manufactured at company¡¯s sophisticated plant with minutest attention to the details, which is characteristic of each and every SGU product. The manufacturing process strictly conforms to IS and international quality standards.

For manufacturing of high quality plywood and other products, SGU goes through meticulous procedures of acquiring quality raw materials.

The manufacture process of plywood, block boards, flush doors can be divided into following stages:

• Acquisition of raw material
• Preservation
• Treatment Gluing
• Pressing Finishing
• Quality Inspection is an ongoing process

The procurement of raw materials for glue, resins, face veneers, core veneers, planks goes through rigid quality assurance procedures that ensure only high-end quality raw materials are used in the manufacturing process at SGU.

SGU encourages eco-friendly means of production and to implement it in its own unit, it uses plantation timbers that saves tropical forest wood and generates revenue to agri business. SGU plywood and other products are manufactured from high quality veneers of uniform thickness. These veneers are peeled off carefully from the quality wood by fully automatic pneumatically controlled peeling machines. Storage of these raw materials is batch marked to assure quality.

The core veneers are dried in dryer conveyor and inspection is conducted to check moisture. Core veneers are then loaded in chopper to chop for end squareness. For block boards and flush doors, planks are dried in seasoning chamber, moisture is inspected, boards are cut to frame baton and planed at the planer to form core frame that are then filled with smaller sized batons to form core board. The core board is hot-pressed in dryer conveyor and moisture-inspected.
